Arun Nevatia

Our Beginning

The Rural Health Care Foundation is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the transformative power of selfless action. The foundation draws its inspiration from the late Arun Nevatia, who was diagnosed with cancer at the tender age of 10. Despite the pains of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, Arun was struck by a realization that good doctors and expensive medicines were beyond the reach of many, making him determined to reach out to the millions deprived of medical assistance due to poverty.

Driven by his urge to help others, Arun founded the Rural Health Care Foundation with his elder brother Anant Nevatia. We opened our first primary health care centre at Mayapur in the Nadia District of West Bengal.

Arun’s decision to discontinue his business and dedicate his life to the foundation reflects his deep conviction that monetary gains will never bring him true happiness. His example inspires us all, reminding us of the transformative power of selfless action and the importance of working towards the greater good.

The Rural Health Care Foundation’s efforts will bear fruit when people start to live healthier lives in rural areas. The foundation’s tireless efforts to provide quality healthcare to impoverished and deprived communities are a shining example of the best of humanity, reminding us that small actions can make a big difference in the world.
